๐Ÿค What Is a Co-op?

A cooperative (co-op) is a community-driven buying group where members pool their purchasing power to get better prices, priority access, and shared resources. At Graceful Homesteading, our co-op is built for folks who are serious about self-sufficiency โ€” whether you're raising animals, crafting by hand, or making your own soap from scratch.

โš™๏ธ How It Works

Here's the honest, no-fluff version of how this co-op runs โ€” because you deserve to know exactly where your money goes.

๐Ÿ›’ You Shop at Regular Retail Price

When you place an order through the co-op, you pay the standard retail price โ€” same as you'd see anywhere else. No upfront membership fees, no guessing games.

๐Ÿค We Pool Orders & Negotiate Bulk Deals

Behind the scenes, we're combining member orders and going back to suppliers to negotiate bulk pricing. The more neighbors who join in, the more leverage we have โ€” and the better the deals we can land.

๐Ÿ’ธ Savings Come Back to You โ€” Almost All of It

When we secure a lower price, the savings pass straight through to you. We keep just 5% of the retail price to cover our coordination time, logistics, and keeping this co-op running. That's it. Every other dollar of savings is yours.

Sign up for auto-fill reordering and that fee drops to just 3% โ€” because you're making our logistics easier, and we pass that savings right back to you.

๐Ÿ“ Real Example: One Bag of Chicken Feed

Standard Co-op (5% fee)

Retail price paid: $22.00

Bulk price negotiated: $18.50

5% coordination fee: $1.10

You save: $2.40 per bag

โญ Auto-Reorder (3% fee)

Retail price paid: $22.00

Bulk price negotiated: $18.50

3% coordination fee: $0.66

You save: $2.84 per bag

๐Ÿ” What That Looks Like Over a Year for 10 Layer Hens

10 laying hens go through roughly 1 bag of feed per month โ€” that's about 12 bags a year. Here's what co-op membership puts back in your pocket:

๐ŸŸก Standard co-op rate (5%): $2.40 ร— 12 bags = $28.80 saved per year

โญ Auto-reorder rate (3%): $2.84 ร— 12 bags = $34.08 saved per year

And that's just the chicken feed. Add in your crafting supplies, soap making ingredients, and other homestead staples โ€” those savings stack up fast, neighbor.

๐Ÿ’ณ Your Savings, Your Choice

When your savings come in, you get to decide what to do with them โ€” no strings attached:

๐Ÿ’ต Refund to Your Card

Want the cash back? We'll send your savings straight back to your original payment method. Simple as that.

โญ Store Credit + 2X Points

Choose to spend your savings at Graceful Homesteading and we'll give you 2X the loyalty points on that entire order. It's our way of saying thank you for keeping it in the community.

Every time you choose to reinvest your savings back into the store, your points double โ€” which means more rewards, faster. It's a neighborly cycle that just keeps giving.

๐Ÿ”„ The More We Grow, the More You Save

This is a living, breathing community effort. The more members who participate in each order cycle, the bigger our buying power โ€” and the better the bulk deals we can negotiate. Invite a neighbor. Bring in your homestead group. Every person who joins makes the co-op stronger for everyone.
